PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Olive Crest Academy is a non-public, non-profit school that provides a small, special education setting for special education students in grades K-12+ in Orange and Los Angeles county

The school is certified by the State Department of Education and meets all the state mandated criteria for operating a school for special needs students.

Class sizes are small, with a maximum size ranging between 12-14 students, with an average student to staff ratio of 4 to 1.

Instruction is individualized to meet the interests and needs of each student.

Each student receives individual and group counseling. Speech and language therapy is available as indicated in a student’s IEP.

OCA strives to teach, support, and reinforce pro-social behaviors, with the goal that students will internally adopt these positive behaviors. Each student is an individual who comes to us because he/she is having difficulties, which are impeding his/her ability to be successful in the public school setting. It is our responsibility, along with the IEP team, to help identify these areas of difficulty and, together with the student, develop a program that enables the student to take responsibility for his/her areas of concern, learn effective and responsible ways to handle the difficulties with the goal to transition back into public school.
