Garden Grove Campus

Olive Crest Academy’s campus in Garden Grove serves students grades K through 12.

In addition to our standard school programming, the Garden Grove Campus offers:

ASB (Associated Student Body)
ASB is a small group of dedicated students who have voluntarily chosen and been elected by their peers to represent our classrooms across campus. These students, with the help of volunteer staff members, strive to involve themselves in making positive improvements for the school while following and upholding OCA’s core values (Respecting Others, Considerate Attitude, and Academic Responsibility). This student organization is established to organize activities and represent the needs and desires of the students of Olive Crest Academy. Students also benefit from learning the principles of being a respectful and responsible leader and team member.

Chess Club
Chess Club builds teamwork and communication skills while helping students develop coping skills, patience, and problem-solving skills. Members meet once a week to play and practice their chess skills.

STEM Club (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Students meet monthly to discover more about STEM and its four key disciplines. This includes being guided through a hands-on activity that illustrates the concepts they have just learned. Hands-on learning allows students to think creatively and use innovation to find unique solutions to common problems, while teaching them important concepts critical to their future success. STEM Club helps students think outside the box and come to the realization that there is always more than one solution to a problem they are presented with.

Writer's Workshop
The Writer’s Workshop was created to encourage and motivate students to develop and publish creative writing stories. These stories are published into a blank book in which students can add illustrations and pictures. Staff then select a few of the stories to “bring to life.” Scripts are developed and students may choose to cast staff as the characters in their stories. Staff may collaborate with students to develop set and prop design.

Annual Science Fair
Science Fair encourages students to participate in experiments while practicing their scientific skills through observation, hypothesis, methods, and solutions. Experiments may be conducted on campus and at home (we encourage families to support students to work on their experiments at home). Students display their experiments at our annual Science Fair during Spring semester.

Competitive Sports (Middle & High School)
Through our co-ed athletics program, students are given the opportunity to participate in the Freeway League and compete in football, basketball, baseball, and soccer.

Fitness Facilities
Our campus includes many amenities for Physical Education classes and recreation, including a track and field area, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, indoor gym, two turf soccer arenas, handball courts, gated playground area with swings, access to golf driving range, fitness room, and a positive time room.

WorkAbility I
Dedicated to preparing youth for independent living and job readiness, WorkAbility provides an array of services that are school and work-based. School-based vocational services include collaboration with academic instruction in basic skills, career/vocational assessments, and self-advocacy training guidance, along with counseling and career planning.
